Well it's about two weeks from the start of our new class at Old Town School. We still need more people to register to get it running. Current students have been working hard on learning instrumentation to some fun songs. We started playing guitars, mandoline, and percussion now. Lot's of fun. They sound fantastic. Hopefully this will be a successful class!!!

I've been working hard with my Cleveland kids on a holiday theme. We are putting an event together for May. They will be performing songs from several holidays including Carnival, Valentines Day, Harmony Day, Martin Luther King Jr. B-day, and Cinco De Mayo. It'll be fun for all! I'll list the event on my Calendar when I know more details.

I have added some Coro song lyrics to the site. Hopefully you will use them to rehearse at home. Eventually these will be Estudiantina lyrics, but for now we will call it Coro de Las Americas. Hope you enjoy, just click on the song title to view.
Estudiantina to come

So OTS just approved another one of my class ideas. La Estudiantina is an ensemble class for 8yrs to adults teaching traditional Spanish and Mexican folk songs. It's opened to vocals, guitars, mandolin, fiddle, lute, bandurria, bass and percussion players. I’m so excited to be able to teach the same type of music I grew up singing, playing and listenig to. I was a member of an Estudiantina for over 12 years and during that time I had an opportunity to tour all over Mexico, Spain and US. It was great fun, and I hope this new class will be too.

I’m happy to announce that my Coro De Las Americas class at Old Town School of Folk Music is filled to the max with 30 cute 5-7 year olds singing their hearts out. Alby my harmonica jamming brother is blowing to a cool train medley and we are loving the kids enthusiasm.
